Key Comparisons

Materials & Durability

Tuft & Needle's Mint Mattress and Leesa's Hybrid Mattress are made from high-quality materials. Both use environmentally friendly CertiPUR-US certified foams, which are much better for the environment and for your health. The manufacturing process of traditional foams can cause mattresses to be contaminated by dangerous chemicals such as formaldehyde and heavy metals such as mercury and lead. CertiPUR-US foams are not exposed to any harmful substances.

Tuft & Needle and Leesa are companies that launched in 2012 and 2015, respectively, so long-term mattress durability has not been tested. Rest assured that both mattresses are made with top-quality materials and boast 10-year warranties, so we don't expect durability to be an issue.

Tuft & Needle's Mint Mattress

Tuft & Needle's Mint Mattress is a three-layer mattress, with a 2-inch T&N adaptive foam layer with cooling gel above a 3-inch T&N adaptive foam layer of graphite, followed by a 7-inch 1.8 PCF HD polyfoam base support foam. The upper layer of the mattress provides great comfort and support to its users. Additionally, it also enables breathability, or air exchange.

The mattress overall has a thickness of 12 inches and weighs 80 pounds. It is also very firm and provides a feeling of buoyancy

Sleeping Positions

People sleep on their backs, sides and/or stomachs. Some people sleep in only one position, and some others switch back and forth throughout the night. Most mattresses are better suited to one type of position than another depending on their level of firmness and materials.

Tuft & Needle's Mint Mattress is most ideal for back sleepers for children or adults weighing less than 130 pounds. Leesa's Hybrid Mattress is suitable for all sleeping styles, including side sleepers. and stomach sleepers, and all weights.

Tuft & Needle Mint Mattress

A typical Tuft & Needle Mint Mattress sinks minimally when lying on the back. Weight is a major factor, however. Thus, people weighing less than 130 pounds would experience a good sleep only when lying on their backs as opposed to the other sleeping positions, where the sleeping experience would be just fair. People weighing 130 to 230 pounds would experience a good sleep in all three positions, with the side position being most comfortable. Moreover, a Tuft & Needle Mint mattress is a good fit for people weighing more than 230 pounds.

Leesa Hybrid Mattress

On average, mattresses by Leesa sink less than 2 inches. It is important to keep in mind, however, that weight is a major contributor here as well, so this may vary. Generally, the Leesa Hybrid Mattress is a very good option for people weighing less than 130 pounds. As for those who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds, your would find it worth your purchase as well. Moreover, for people weighing more than 230 pounds, the Leesa Hybrid Mattress would equally match up to Tuft & Needle's Mint Mattress for larger bodies.

Cover

Tuft & Need's Mint Mattress and Leesa's Hybrid Mattress offer minimal to elegant covers, with both being received satisfactorily. Each company's cover allows for breathability.

Tuft & Needle Mint Mattress

The Tuft & Needle Mint Mattress cover is adequate. It is a plain white cloth that is elastic and thin. This feature allows for air exchange and cooling. The only design on the entire cover is the company's brand logo. With this said, it would fair to conclude that the Tuft & Needle Mint Mattress offers minimal aesthetic vibes. The focus is clearly on quality construction.

Leesa Hybrid Mattress

Leesa's Hybrid Mattress is elegant. It is a cloth piece of woven fabric that is very soft and adequately thick, providing comfort. The cover is rather bold and striking. It features a four-bar design and exhibits aesthetic vibes much more so than the cover on Tuft & Needle's Mint Mattress. The Leesa Hybrid Mattress cover is made from lycra and polyester. This makes it highly elastic and breathable as well.

As an added feature, the Leesa Hybrid Mattress cover is almost entire seamless, with the only seams at its corners.
